Covering powder is mainly used to cover the molten steel surface of ladle and tundish in the process of continuous casting. The function is to avoid excessive temperature drop of molten steel during transportation and casting, and cold steel on molten steel surface.

During steelmaking and continuous casting, exposed molten steel can lose heat and interact with the surrounding atmosphere. Applying an appropriate molten steel covering agent creates a protective layer over the steel surface.
